ENCUENTRO
Encuentro werd opgenomen op 5, 6 en 7 juli 2019 in de stille ruimte van AZ Zeno te Knokke. Deze unieke locatie werd geconstrueerd als een cirkelvormige bezinningsruimte, baadt in het daglicht dat via grote ramen binnenvalt en is quasi helemaal in hout afgewerkt. De unieke akoestiek leent zich uitstekend voor gitaar.
De cd kent geen strak omlijnd concept, maar is opgevat als een afwisselend concertprogramma. De titel Encuentro, Spaans voor ‘ontmoeting’, verwijst naar het eclectisch karakter met een hoofdaandeel aan Spaanse en Zuid-Amerikaanse muziek. Verder is een cd-opname ook het resultaat van een ontmoeting tussen uitvoerder en instrument en hoopt het te dialogeren met een luisteraar. Encuentro was registered on 5, 6 and 7 July 2019 in AZ Zeno’s quiet room in Knokke-Heist. This circular place of reflection has large windows and bathes in light. The walls, ground and ceiling are covered in wood; its acoustics are excellent for guitar music. This cd does not have a strict concept, but is conceived as a diverse concert programme. The title Encuentro, Spanish for ‘encounter’, refers to its eclectic nature with a main share of Spanish and South American music. Furthermore, a cd is always the result of a kind of meeting between the musician and his/her instrument, and hopes to enter into a dialogue with the listener.
